Terms of sale
These terms apply when you buy from this store. They are meant to be read, so they are short.

Who you are buying from
This store is operated by Canadian Fishing Lines. “We” and “us” mean Canadian Fishing Lines; “you” means the person placing the order. You can reach us at [email protected].
Orders
Placing an order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we confirm your payment has succeeded and send your order confirmation.
We may decline an order — for example where an item is genuinely out of stock, where a price was clearly wrong, or where we cannot deliver to the address given. If we decline after you have paid, you are refunded in full.
Stock is reserved for a short period while you complete checkout. If payment does not complete in that window the reservation is released and the items become available to other customers again.
Prices and payment
Prices are shown in Canadian dollars or United States dollars, as you select, and each currency is priced separately rather than converted at checkout. The price you see for your selected currency is the price you pay.
Prices can change, but a change never affects an order already placed. Shipping is added at checkout and shown before payment.
All amounts charged are determined on our servers. A price submitted by a browser is never trusted, so an altered page cannot change what you are charged.
Payment is taken by Stripe. By paying you also accept Stripe’s terms for the payment itself.
Sales tax
Sales tax is not currently added to orders. If that changes because the business becomes registered to collect it, tax will be shown separately at checkout before you pay, and never applied retrospectively to an order already placed.
Import duties and taxes on parcels entering the United States are a separate matter and are payable by the recipient. See shipping.
Delivery
We deliver to Canada and the United States. Delivery estimates are estimates, not guarantees. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery, so a parcel damaged in transit is our problem to resolve, not yours — see faulty goods.
Faults and returns
Faulty, damaged, and incorrectly supplied items are covered by our faulty goods policy, which forms part of these terms. Your statutory rights under Canadian consumer protection law, or equivalent law where you live, are not affected by anything here.
Using the products
Fishing line and reels have stated ratings. Used beyond them — or used for something they were not built for — they will fail, and that is not a fault. Product descriptions and field notes are general guidance, not advice for your specific situation.
Fishing is regulated. Licences, seasons, catch limits, and permitted methods are your responsibility, and they differ by province, state, and water.
Liability
We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, nor for loss arising from using a product outside its stated ratings or intended purpose.
Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law does not allow it to be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
The website itself
We aim to keep the store available and its information accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Content on this site belongs to us or to our suppliers and may not be republished commercially without permission.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Consumer protection law in the place where you live may give you rights you can enforce locally, and these terms do not take those away.
Changes
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it, and the date above tells you which that was. We currently sell only to the two countries named above.
